Michael Thompson is President and Chairman of SPIAS. As a voting member of the Portfolio Strategy Committee, he is integral in influencing and facilitating the discussion and interpretation of market events that is cornerstone to the asset allocation decision making process. Michael also serves as the Chief Executive Officer for Standard & Poor’s Investment Advisory Services UK, the company’s regulated entity in the UK and Europe.
Prior to joining S&P Global in 2008, Michael was Managing Director of Thomson Reuters Research. In this role, Michael led the firm’s market analysis team, which provided deep dive research to investors, maintained the First Call consensus, and drove corporate policy on new regulatory initiatives. Michael was integral to setting policy on the handling of FAS 123(R) accounting mandates in the Thomson First Call Mean in this role. He also held positions at RiskMetrics Group, J.P. Morgan, and Lehman Brothers.
Michael holds a Bachelor’s degree from Hofstra University.
Charlie leads the Portfolio Management team and is primarily responsible for asset allocation, portfolio construction, and risk management. He is a voting member and chair of the Portfolio Strategy Committee, the group responsible for SPIAS’ asset allocation recommendations. Charlie has over 20 years of industry experience and has been with S&P Global since 2002.
Prior to joining SPIAS, Charlie led the Quantitative Analytics Resource Group within S&P Global Ratings. He previously held positions as Chief Analytical Officer at Evare and as product manager for MATLAB in the financial services industry at Mathworks.
Charlie holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Economics and an Master of Business Administration in Finance, both from Boston University.
Michael is responsible for the oversight of the asset allocations and fund selections in SPIAS’ multi-asset class strategies. He serves as chairperson of the Fund Review Committee, which implements all ETF and mutual fund recommendations in the Model Allocation Portfolios. He also is a voting member of the Portfolio Strategy Committee, the group responsible for SPIAS’ asset allocation recommendations.
Prior to joining SPIAS, Michael held positions within the S&P Retail Research group. He has over 20 years of industry experience and has been with S&P Global since 1997.
Michael holds a Bachelor’s degree from The College of New Jersey and an MBA from Baruch College Zicklin School of Business.
Robert is responsible for the surveillance and analysis of international economic trends, including their bearing on multi-asset class relationships and valuations. He is a voting member of the Portfolio Strategy Committee (PSC), the group responsible for SPIAS’ asset allocation recommendations. Robert incorporates his top down “view” into the discussions and decision making process of the PSC. He has over 25 years of industry experience.
Prior to joining S&P in 2008, Robert held various investment strategy and trading positions dealing in the U.S. fixed income, equity, commodity, and global currency markets on Wall Street. Previous employment with U.S. primary dealers and international commercial banks include Société Générale, The Long Term Credit Bank of Japan Ltd, Lloyds Bank Plc., and Carroll McEntee & McGinley (CM&M) Inc.
Robert holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and English from Rutgers College, Rutgers University.
Naveen is responsible for providing model driven asset allocation recommendations for assets under advisement in SPIAS’ Model Allocation Portfolios (MAPs). He serves as member of the Fund Review Committee and a voting member of the Portfolio Strategy Committee, the group responsible for SPIAS’ asset allocation recommendations. Naveen has over 10 years of industry experience.
Prior to joining S&P in 2009, Naveen worked as a Capital Markets Research Analyst at Frank Russell Company specializing in money manager research. He also was an Investment Analyst with Harvest Fund Advisors focusing on master limited partnerships.
Naveen holds a Bachelor of Science in Management of Information Systems, MBA in Investment Management and Management of Information Systems, and a Master of Science in Finance from Drexel University.
Erin oversees all equity portfolio strategies, which include both North American and International jurisdictions. These strategies focus on risk-adjusted returns: attempting to maximize returns while minimizing volatility. Erin is also responsible for developing the equity advisory business and quantitative portfolio research globally. She is a voting member of the Portfolio Strategy Committee, the group responsible for SPIAS’ asset allocation recommendations.
Prior to joining S&P in 2006, Erin held positions at Liberty Ridge Capital, Citigroup, and Sanford Bernstein. She has over 15 years of industry experience.
Erin holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Management with a focus in Finance from Pace University. She is a board member of the Society of Quantitative Analysts, a not-for-profit organization focused on education and communication to support members of the quantitative investment practitioner community.
Marcus is responsible for quantitative portfolio research to enhance existing models and develop new strategies. He also manages advisory equity portfolios, including UITs, and helps to develop the equity business. Marcus has over 10 years of industry experience. Marcus is a voting member of the Portfolio Strategy Committee, the group responsible for SPIAS’ asset allocation recommendations.
Prior to joining SPIAS, Marcus worked for the ClariFI® group at S&P Global Market Intelligence (formerly S&P Capital IQ) advising clients on how to use the full suite of technologies in the development of quantitative equity strategies. He has been with S&P Global since 2006.
Marcus holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from California Institute of Technology and a Master of Science in Investment Management from Boston University. He is also a CFA charterholder.
Fabrice oversees all fixed income strategies and develops quantitative and qualitative approaches to provide tailored solutions to clients. He serves as a voting member of the Portfolio Strategy Committee, the group responsible for SPIAS’ asset allocation recommendations. Fabrice has over 20 years of industry experience.
Prior to joining S&P in 2000, Fabrice was a fund manager at Candriam Investors Group (Dexia Asset Management) and managed the credit arbitrage division at Ofi Asset Management (ADi Alternative Investments).
Fabrice holds a Bachelor’s, Masters in Economics and Management and post-graduate specialization in Banking and Finance from the University of Paris Pantheon-Assas. He is also a Certified European Financial Analyst (CEFA).
Michael is the head of SPIAS operations. He is responsible for portfolio management operations, product management, performance measurement, data operations and finance. Michael has over 10 years of industry experience.
Prior to joining S&P in 2003, Michael held prior roles within Information Technology at other non-financial firms.
Michael holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science from Northeastern University. He is a Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement (CIPM) certificate holder.
As Chief Commercial Officer, Tom is responsible for business development, sales, and relationship management activities for SPIAS. He has over 20 years of industry experience.
Prior to joining S&P in 2002, Tom held positions at MFS Investment Management, NATIXIS Global Asset Management, and Rydex SGI Investment Management.
Tom holds a Bachelor’s degree from Northeastern University and a Master of Business Administration from Babson College Franklin W. Olin Graduate School of Business.
Nicole is responsible for developing and managing SPIAS’ home office relationships. She has over 15 years of industry experience.
Prior to joining S&P in 2012, Nicole was a Business Development Consultant for iShares at BlackRock covering RIAs and institutional clients. Additionally, she held positions at AllianceBernstein, Citigroup and Morgan Stanley.
Nicole holds a Bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University.
Sherod focuses on new advisor acquisitions, manages the Internal Investment Consultant team, and serves as a team lead for the Regional Investment Consultants. He is also responsible for business development in the Great Lakes region of the U.S. Sherod has over 10 years of industry experience.
Prior to joining S&P Global in 2012, Sherod held positions with AXA Equitable, T. Rowe Price, and Blackrock/iShares.
Sherod holds a bachelor’s degree from University of Maryland.
